youth aid panel ftw

i haven't been able to upload pictures for some reason so i've been shying away from this...

but i was at a meeting last night and it was just too cool to not talk about...

quakertown's newly formed youth aid panel met for the first time last night and heard cases.

sounds run of the mill? it isn't. the all volunteer panel listens to cases of juveniles who commit minor offenses and keep the kids free of the system and getting a blemish on their record.

i sat in on the panel's first case ever and all i could think was "wow."

the volunteers were obviously there because this is something they all feel strongly about. you could tell by the way they acted and the questions they asked.

the teen sounded truly sorry and now has to complete an assignment from the panel as a form of punishment.

it is obvious that there has been so much hard work that has gone into this; it shows.

full story in next week's paper, 07/17.

i was in the ER for part of the weekend and then on lots of drugs for the rest of the week.

don't worry, i'm fine. thanks for asking.

John McCain is the most boring man alive

"i'm sorry doctor. i'm too old to listen to what you're saying."

yikes. i need a president who can act excited about things. i thought i was in high school biology class and not watching the man who wants to rule america.

and the national/world press... what a bunch of tough guys. of course the only cool one there? french TV. they don't mess around.
