Can you believe it?

Maybe it's just me, but lately I just don't understand the behavior of our Hollywood stars and big-time athletes. Michael Vick and dogfighting allegations, actresses and actors in and out of rehab (once the cops nab them of course). Is it a wonder that our kids do the things they do? When I was a young kid, I tried to follow the leads of people like Pete Rose (for his hustle, not his hustling which came later in life...), and others. We respected the rules, the adults and the games we played. We played because we loved the games. After doing some coaching and being a parent of athletes, it's just not that way anymore. What a shame. What do you think about the situation? Is anyone else turning off VH1, MTV and all the other junk in their homes? I can't even tolerate ESPN anymore. Homerun trots, NBA dunkfests, NFL endzone antics...

Recent time off

Just returned after a week in Nags Head, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills. Hey, are they great names for towns or what? The weather was great, the people nice, the beaches superb. Did a little fishing; good thing there were plenty of places to eat. Checked out the Wright Brothers Museum. It must have been interesting being their mom and dad...Anyway, looking for some other vacation stories. Let me know.
