Dan is sick of the primary
Hillary Clinton tells us we should vote for her because she has experience. Her commercials, her spokespeople and her campaigning family members tell us the same thing.
And you know what? When I interview her supporters, too many tell me they are voting for her because she has experience.
Barack Obama tells us we should vote for him because he represents the change this country needs. His commercials, his spokespeople and his campaigning wife tell us the same thing.
And you know what? When I interview his supporters, too many tell me they are voting for him because he will bring about the change this country needs.
Regardless of what the candidates think, their media machines tend to treat politics as a game. The object is to come up with a simple message that will resonate with voters and draw them into the fold. Whoever lures more voters wins. The voters, of course, don't have much free will. Like addicts, they'll amble towards whichever message gets them off.
Does Barack really represent change? Does Hillary really have more experience? Geez, I don't know. But I'm getting sick of their messages. Please, registered Democrats, in the 24 or so hours before you cast your votes, come up with real reasons to support the candidate you plan to vote for.
