Arrival in Shanghai
5am Sunday.
All travelers on Eastern Sunrise have arrived safely and are resting comfortably at the VIVA SHA resort hotel. In a few hours we will begin our first full day in Shanghai. Weather yesterday was rainy but warmer than Newtown.
Everyone is thrilled to be here and excited about our adventure. Internet access at the hotel is difficult to access. More to follow. Thanks to everyone for their expressions of support!

I'm so glad to see things are going good over there. I'm also happy to hear from other parents what their kids are experiencing. Keep the news comming!!
Another update from my husband who continues to be in awe!!
On our way to Beijing. I continue to be amazed by the resiliency of the kids. Maybe that is what Ed is teaching them. That they can push to their limits and succeed.
I continue to be amazed at the organization of this trip! As I have tracked my daughter's flight (via earthlink)we have known exactly when the plane took off as well as when it landed. Visits to sites for the Shanghai & Beijing Newspapers show me pictures of the city, flowering trees and temps. There are sites for the Hui Zhenlou restaurant in Beijing which looks amazing and also a site for the Jade factory ( I am wishing for the braclet.. not the Buddha.) Friendship Hotel looks like a wonderful resort... and pictures of the concert halls are inspiring. I know that they have sent registered nurses on each flight and if the fish comes out with eyeballs staring at you... well there are other things to eat. They are in good hands. A trip of a lifetime.

Go to Travel China Online on your
computer and you will see videos
of what the kids are seeing. It's incredible.
We spoke to my son last night shortly before he left for Bejing. The word "awesome" was used so many times in the conversation, I began to doubt it was my son. He was awesome, the Yu Gardens were awesome, the concert (especially the final song) was awesome. The food, however, never received that distinction. Any news that all are safely in Bejing?
If anyone sees my daughter, Amanda Marra, please remind her that she does have a calling card. Thanks, her mom!
Dear Debra Lynn and all concerned parents who haven't heard from their kids,
This is our 6th CRN trip between 3 kids...this one is a freshman so most likely not done yet! We sent them off with cell phones, BB's, calling cards and not a word.. Not hearing from them is a great sign. They're too busy having fun ...or just too exhausted! You won't be able to keep them quiet once they get home...
Can anyone recommed specific websites to visit?
