Lost in the 50's

The people who live here seem to be patriotic, displaying a very large American flag on the front of their home so that hundreds of motorists passing by every day can see it.
I wonder if they know that there are now 50 states, and there have been for almost 50 years?
Their flag only shows 48 states.

Geoff- Many of these flags- those with 48 stars- were given to families of fallen service men/women. Our family has one and we fly it proudly as well. d

According to flag etiquette from several flag etiquette sites, www.ushistory.org quoted below...
Question...Is it appropriate to fly a flag that has fewer than 50 stars?
Answer...Yes it is. Official United States flags are always considered living, active flags. From the Betsy Ross flag to the present 50-star flag, any flag that at some time was the currently active flag is still considered a living flag to be accorded all due respect.

Huzah, for those still flying somewhat older versions of the Grand Old Flag.
