Back in the saddle

Hello E-townians, and welcome back to From the Sidelines. After a brief, and much needed, respite I'm back and geared up for the winter season.

In the coming days, I'll have all of the L-L All-Stars here for you from the fall season (complete with photos, if I can just figure out how to put them on here) and previews of all of the EAHS winter sports.

But there is already one winter sport that is going on at the high school level: ice hockey. And the Bears have a pretty darn good team.

The Bears are off to a 4-0 start and are in first place in Tier 2 of the Lancaster/Lebanon/Berks division of the Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League, or CPIHL for short. Ice hockey is not a PIAA-sanctioned sport, so it's considered a club sport, but we treat it like a varsity sport here at From the Sidelines.

Anywho, E-town has outscored its first four opponents 35-10 (wow), winning 7-2, 9-1, 7-2 and 12-5 last night over Pequea Valley. The Bears are coming off of a great season, and with the likes of Zach Lokey (arguably the best player in the league), Brian Milici, Josh Carter, Tom Dombrosky, Dillon Filepas, Derek Hallet, AJ English, Hunter Peirce, Mike VanHorn, and Harry Rhodes, they are going to be very, very tough to hang with.

Great start by the Bears.

The boys and girls basketball seasons get underway tonight as the boys will travel to Hershey and the girls head to Columbia for Tip Off Tournaments. The wrestling team will face Hershey in its first match of the season tomorrow at 12:30 at home. Plenty more on all of the winter sports teams coming up when I get the previews together. Good to be back and, as always, I'll try and post every day.
