In the Driver's Seat

Well, well, well, I certainly didn't see this one coming. Manheim Central beat Lampeter-Strasburg (we're talking about wrestling by the way) last night and put the Bears (6-0 leage, 12-3 overall) in sole possession of first place in Section Two. L-S drops into a second place tie with CV and Central is still hanging around.

Next Thursday's matchup with L-S is still huge for E-town, but at least the Bears know now that they control their own destiny. Heck, they clinched at least a tie for the section title with a win over Garden Spot last night coupled with the L-S loss. Beat the Pioneers next Thursday, and they'll repeat as section champs.

But first things first, the Bears need to take care of business tomorrow and Saturday at the L-L League Tournament. Last year, they had a great outing, finishing fourth. I think they are up there with Warwick and Hempfield in terms of the teams to beat this year. Warwick is very, very tough, as is Hempfield, but the winner of the tournament should be one of those three schools, and there's no reason to think that the Bears can't take the whole enchilada. Time will tell, I suppose.

I'm trying to get my paws on the first round matchups of tomorrow's tournament. When I do, I'll post them along with any insight I have.
