12 out of 16

Day One of March Madness is in the books. Went 12-4 on Day One.

Could have been worse, had I not changed Oral Roberts and Pitt.

Lost two 8-9 games, which I think are the toughest to pick. Had BYU beating Texas A&M and Kent State beating UNLV.

Biggest loss was USC falling to K-State. Had USC going to the Elite 8.

Also lost Purdue and Baylor. About the only Big 10 team I usually pick is Michigan State. Forgot Gene Keady isn't at Purdue anymore.

Couple of worries for today's game -- two more 8-9 games -- Picked Indiana over Arkansas and Mississippi State over Oregon. Also Gonzaga and Davidson. Also picked St. Mary's over the U.

Other piks: Memphis over Texas-Arlington; Texas over Austin Peay (who might have the best chant of the tournament); Drake over Western Kentucky; UConn over San Diego; Georgetown over UMBC; Vandy over Siena; Clemson over 'Nova; Tennessee over American; Butler over South Alabama; Louisville over Boise State; Oklahoma over St. Joe's and the Heels over the Mount.
