Sereni Alert

I just finished writing a column for tomorrow's paper on beleaguered Penn-Delco solicitor Mark Sereni and his attempt to rally support for himself.
You want a taste?
Here:

Once again, Mark Sereni has been betrayed.
Once again his confidentiality has been breached by a treasonous client.
Into my possession has fallen another Sereni "Privileged and Confidential" communique. It is written to a "valued client" with a very special purpose in mind.

Read the rest in tomorrow's Daily Times.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Mark Sereni's father, Leo Sereni, sucked hundreds of thousands of dollars out of Haverford Township every year for years and his work was terrible. In fact, the grand jury report slammed him for his complicity in the Haverford State fraud. You should ask Mark what he thinks should be done with the "alleged evidence" against his father.

Perhaps this is explains why Sereni is so concerned about his little boy's perception of recent events.
...

I think Sereni's extreme over-reaction is a sign of guilt. He would be better off simply sharing his version of the truth and allowing people to make their own judgments. You can't control everything, and what people think is definitely one of those things that you can't control.

Add up what he has made from all three of his school board solicitorships. If he made half as much each from Marple and Springfield as he made from Penn-Delco, he would have earned $520,000 for 12 months for the 3 solicitorships. If he is billing at $125 per hour (avg rate), he would have had to work (and also bill) 80 hours per week. If he made as much in Marple and Springfield as he did in Penn Delco, he would have cleared $780,000 which means he would have had to bill approx 120 per week. It wouldn't surprise me if he "out perfomed" a former Upper Darby School Dist solicitor in the billing race.

These solicitorships are political plums, and it amounts to the fleecing of the local taxpayer!

Propaganda Minister Goebel and the Liberal Press would beg to differ.

I have to wonder what the other 2 school boards are thinking in light of this mess in Penn Delco. I think its great the angry citizens are speaking up Springfield and Marple, better start watching the cash flow carefully....seems to me that Sereni got his hand caught in the cookie jar, wonder how many other "cookie jars" he's reaching into...Attourney Generals office...are you watching???
