I'm sure if Santorum's election lies bothered you, you must have been appalled when Clinton reneged on his campaign promises to the Haitian refugees in 1993.
This is scary. Latinos are the nation's fastest-growing block of voters, and a group that could prove decisive in 2008.
In past presidential races, the push for Hispanic votes often came weeks before Election Day, with a focus on getting out the vote. But with political parties' growing awareness of Latinos' importance - in part because they represent a large pool of new voters - campaigns are developing their positions more than a year before the election.
With the potential gain from tapping into this growing demographic becoming more obvious, leading presidential contenders are pouring more time and money into crafting a message that appeals to it, and doing so earlier than ever before.
Speaking of the Haitians... Here is a pretty good article on why the world is the way it is today and what we could return to in a post-Bush/weaker conviction Presidency (regardless of the party who wins).
That is precisely why the Dems are so eager to do favor and make friends with our new citizens from the south, BJ. Think they really care about them other than their votes?
