A Natural-Born President

The question is being raised that because John McCain was born outside the United States (his mother gave birth to him in the Panama Canal zone while stationed there with his Naval officer father) he might not be legally eligible to be president of the United States.

One of the constitutional requirements of the job is be a "natural born" U.S. citizen.

It would be kind of screwed up that children born to foreigners illegally in this country could be eligible to be president but that the children of U.S. military officers posted outside the country are not.

I bet the McCain campaign would love this to be made an issue by his Democratic opponent. Not even Democrats are that dumb.

UPDATE: Here's hoping we find out that Mrs. McCain had a C-section so that the McCain's opponents start attacking for being a Caesarean.

not even an issue. I wouldn't consider it in this case. If ANYONE (either side of the aisle) makes an issue of this one they're asking for their own political suicide. McCain was born out of country because his father was serving OUR country in OUR military by serving abroad.

Now, Ah-nold would be a different issue, but I'm doubting we see that come about in the forseeable future...

If some guy named Barrack Hussein Obama with ties to Islam and black militancy with no experience can be president then anyone can.

I'll give credit where due, Obama's too intelligent to pull something like that on McCain. Let the conservative Radio Hosts try to spin it instead, they're good at dismantling the party as they have done lately.

I’m just playing along with the LibDem cheap politics game, D. I don’t much care what the national Repubs said. Some of us are sick and tired of the Right always taking the high road while the Slimy Left, well, never does. And unlike you, I am my own man.
Besides, why are you folks so intent upon hiding the guy’s given middle name? I suppose if his name were, say, Saddam Osama Kill All Americans, you LibDems would have everyone ignore that too.
As for the rest of your blahblah: Blah.

Wiggle on, Dave! Lol...

Hey, tell us, what are some of these alleged "merits" Mr. B. Hussein Obama has? I've yet to hear, well, any at all. So far the whole thing seems to be about little more than the Left wants a black in that office -any black, regardless of lack of qualifications- and they'll do anything to see to it that happens.

Ahh, so you watched Hannity and Colmes last night, I see.

This is a ridiculous issue, they spoke of a 1790's document by the framers defining a natural-born citizen, open and shut case.

Let's focus on how Obama's inexperience and overly-liberal stance is similar to the Eagles Replacing Donovan McNabb with Mike McMahon. Ready for a TRUE disaster Bush-haters???

Dave,

Just to clarify, I'm sure you didn't mean the RNC "officially denounced Obama's middle name and falsely implying that he was Muslim/Islamic..."

You meant that the RNC officially denounced drawing attention to Obama's middle name and falsely implying that he is a Muslim.

Right? Because that's what the RNC did. They didn't denounce his name.

Randal, as we know, doesn't take his talking points or any other orders from the RNC as far as I can see.

Diano:

As a closet expert on the Constitution and the Supreme Court, what is worse now than prior to Bush about the Supreme Court? I am not sure how Chief Justice Roberts and Associate Justice Alito were bad selections. Perhaps you can enlighten me. Also, I have proof that the more liberal Justices have perverted our system of law by refusing to follow the Constitution as written.

I look forward to your well reasoned response.

Diano will never bite, he is too smart to risk getting creamed in a debate concerning real facts, the law, etc... For now it is still just a dream.

Too smart?? I think it more likely he's just afraid.

That’s like asking for a well reasoned response from a five year old girl.
