O Picks Joe

On Obama's selection of Joe Biden to be his running mate the joke going around is Empty Suit picks Stuffed Shirt.

I've met Biden twice and his reputation as a blowhard is well earned. But he is also entertaining, knowledgable on foreign affairs and combative.

He could be a bit of a problem for the hard left. Like John Kerry, Biden supported the war before he was against it. But with the war winding down and troops being withdrawn, they'll be plenty of other things for the Dems to talk about.

Biden is something of loose cannon and a little bit of Joe can go a long way. But overall, Spencerblog thinks his selection is inspired.

Biden isn't exactly "Change You Can Believe In," he's an old Washington hand. But he's probably exactly what Obama needs to balance his own inexperience and thin resume.

Besides, he's smarter than you are. And smarter than he was in 1988.

UPDATE: Check out this GOP ad Democrats Vs. Obama. Note what Joe Biden says about the man who has now chosen him to play second banana.

Obama should have picked someone with Executve experience. He was a longshot, but Bill Richardson would have been a great choice, IMHO. I would have given him props for the selection.

perceived is more of reality on this one dave. Let's openly meet with Manny Johad, don't worry about the propaganda. Clinton smacked his sorry ass around in their debates on Foreign policy.

Truly talented political spinners can do their spinning without resorting to outright lying. It is apparent that Dishonest Dave is incapable of this.

Obama is weak on foreign policy experience. Period. Saying otherwise changes nothing.
When the Biden announcement was made a number of Dem Obama supports slipped and publicly conceded that Biden would augment Obama’s “weakness on foreign policy”. Oops! This, just the very charge the Right had been making for some time but the lying Obama camp had denied.

Bush did not come around to Obama’s call for troop withdraw from Iraq, as you dishonestly imply. I schooled you the other day about how Bush stuck to his guns and won this war and that progress on the ground has allowed the draw down of troops. So stop lying, ya liar.

There is no “portraying” Obama as a radical black militant. He did it to himself, by his own words and deeds, and by sitting in that Black Racist church for 20+ years. This is not spin; this is fact. Kinda hard to blame this on anyone but your Black Candidate himself.

If Biden had any integrity he would relinquish his senate seat to run for VP. But he’s never been accused of having an overabundance of integrity. (You know what that feels like, eh DDD.)

Biden comes with lots of baggage, much of it verbal and much of it which was targeted at Obama. Again, kinda hard to blame this on anyone but him.
Biden is a hypocrite “attack dog” who now, for political gain, is turning against his longtime “friend” McCain.
Nothing to respect there. Not much loyalty in the LibDem ranks. Not much “change” or “unity” there.

This is gonna be fun (and easy!). Let the games begin!

randal, I don't get the biden pick, I really don't. Someone over the weekend was trying to spin him as the "3rd senator from Pennsylvania" but I always saw him as a whiner in the senate for all these years. He resembles more of a Jack McCaffrey at CNN than a VP candidate (Whiny old men).

I stated richardson earlier, but thought the governor of Kansas would have fine as well (I forget her name). My secret favorite would have been Mark Warner of Virginia, but he's focused on the Senate Seat in VA that he should win. Hell, Warner's more qualified for the presidency than Obama!

There are a great number of Donkeys more suited for the office of the president than Obama. But this is what we get when quality, qualifications and experience are forsaken for misguided Lib feel-good Affirmative Action.

Since it will obviously never happen, why propose it? But wouldn't a McCain/Hillary ticket be the ultimate response to Obama/Biden? It'll never happen, so expect a "typical white guy" as Barry likes to say, take the GOP's VEEP slot.

DDD, in your feeble attempt to spin you’re lying again.

Bush did not ‘come around to Obama’s idea of a timeline for troop withdraw blahblah’, ya liar.

Obama is weak on foreign policy. It’s not just a perception. This is unspinable. Every smart political minds agrees that O picked Biden to bolster the ticket on foreign policy, of what O was lacking. Everyone else knows this but you.

There is a misconception that the president needs to be the most knowledgeable person in every area over which he presides. No President is going to be the top economist, military strategist, diplomat, environmental engineer, energy specialist, constitutional scholar, etc.
The President needs to be a leader, understand the issues well enough to make an informed decision with sound judgment, pick quality people that are experts in the fields (rather than ideological hacks), and have a vision for where he wants to take the country.

This may be the truest thing you have ever posted, DDD.
It’s what all good leaders do, surround themselves with good smart people. It’s what Bush did. Obama, being The Most Radical Liberal Member of Congress is much more likely to be the ideological hack. And our country won’t survive him loading the Supreme Court with more fellow Radical Liberals.

Obama has nice suits. That’s about it.

Obama just alienated a great swath of the Center by picking Biden. They see the Dem ticket now as being loaded with two Radical Liberals. For all he brought that Obama was lacking, Biden was a bad choice. He didn’t even get the usual poll bump from his VP selection, and on the eve of the convention!

Half of Hillary backers don’t and won’t back Obama. Good luck with this and the rest of your wishful non-thinking.

old white guy

Talk about playing to fears…

You’ve been throwing this term around a lot lately. That you use it as a slur to disparage your Black Candidate’s white opponent says a lot about you, DDD. I’ve never before used the term here but it seems apparent that your While Guilt-ridden Apologist Liberalism truly has caused you to go full-blown race traitor.

Next let’s talk about the guilt-ridden Liberals who will vote for ANY black, no matter how unqualified for the job and the 98% of blacks who are voting for Obama just and only because both he and they are black.
