President Obama
It appears Barack Obama is going to be the next President of the United States.
How interesting.
Congratulations to him and his supporters. We wish him well and much luck, it always helps to have more than a little.
UPDATE: The biggest disappointment of the night? It looks like slanderer and greedy pork merchant Rep. John Murtha is going to be returned to Congress. Ugh.

Gil - Its still early, but as your token liberal, I want to thank you for the congratulations. Looking forward to having a beer with you after this is all over.
America's first Gen X president. A generation born to a cold war, raised on cable TV , and lead the internet revolution. adapters. So its no wonder they responded to Obama and his call for change... remember it was Gen X who grew up claiming individuality, multiculturalism, technology and thinking that nothing was possible because success wasn't getting married buying a chevy and a house with a white picket fence and having a job for life.
The world has changed. America has changed...
McCain never understood that world.
Congratulations to President-Elect Obama, I hope his upcoming term is productive and beneficial to the Untied States, as we all should.
This campaign made it abundantly clear that change was truly needed in the country after eight difficult years of poor decisions and even worse repercussions. While I didn't support him, however he's still my president come 01/20/09 (?) - here's hoping he proves me 100% wrong on anything I've stated.
If there is a piece of change I want to see (To be reassuring to me) PLEASE be a LEADER as President, not a LIBERAL. Than you'll prove to me that you're truly special and have the entire country's best interests at hand.
Wow, Gil...why can't you be as gracious in defeat as your CANDIDATE was?
Guess we'll have to get ready for the next 4 to 8 years of Right-wing games of "gotcha" and threats of impeachment...typical of Republican losers.
Actually, I expected you to be more disappointed in Caribou Barbie's choice, Craig Williams, going down to defeat so soundly. Ol' "Charlie the Crook" Sexton must be spinning in his grave!
Did Craig lose to Joe The Admiral by more than 10 points? You betcha! (wink!)
Now that Hussein won, can the republicans act towards him the same as they dems acted towards President Bush? Can we play by the same rules as established by the libs in Congress?
C. Scott Shields
Steve-
I predict Obama will be the LEADER you hope, and will be getting your vote in 2012.
Gil-
You complain about Murtha as a slanderer (for truthfully acknowledging the racism of a significant minority of voters in his district), yet excuse (and publish) all the slanderous rhetoric by a host of bloggers here regarding Obama's race and false assertions about his religion and patriotism.
You deserve a McCain/Palin White House, but fortunately, the majority of us knew better.
C. Scott - Is it your intention to continue to refer to President elect Obama as Hussein? Because if it is, think you have answered your own question.
diano, knowing you bought into the kool-aid two years ago, your hype's not buying me. We'll see what he does when he enters office.
That's a real shame about Murtha.
He’s only one day in and already we’re seeing Obama’s version of “change” and “unity” in action by his picking of Washington insiders, vicious partisans and Clinton throwbacks to his cabinet. Suckers. Hanoi John Kerry as Secretary of State is the sickest joke of all; he’s more suited for Secretary of Treason than anything else.
The real change we’re seeing is the stock market plummeting, fearful of a Socialist Obama presidency. Also, Putin is elevating his rhetoric and positioning himself for a power grab. And gun sales have skyrocketed to record levels as 2nd Amendment folks rush to beat Obama’s likely gun-grabbing.
Don’t say you weren’t warned, folks.
The big difference between how we Repubs and Righties show our disgust and disappointment in Obama’s win will be evident in how we express it. Unlike the LibDems who were all too eager to turn against their own country for the past eight years just to show their dislike of Bush, we’re not likely to do that. We’ll resist Obama’s Socialist/ Commie policies while staying true to country. Because we’re better than LibDonkeys.
bob-
you can't expect C. Scott to abandon his bigotry overnight. it will take years of him being ridiculed to pick up on the error of his ways.
