Norma Davis' Family Fun Center Update

Last week we wrote about Yeadon retiree Norma Davis trying to get her new business open on schedule and the members of the United Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 98 who were trying to prevent it.

The union wanted union electricians on the Lansdowne job, which was almost done. Negotiations between the builder and the union failed and the site was picketed by UBEW guys.

Wednesday, a PECO worker declined to cross the line for the scheduled hook-up of the new building's gas line.

Sunday, PECO returned only to be met by unionists who surrounded and blocked access to the pole. Eventually, the police were called in and after arrests were threatened, the PECO workers was allowed to do its job.

Davis' Grand Opening is scheduled for Saturday. The building crew is working almost round the clock to get it done.

"It's going to be close," said Developer George Spaeder.

We'll keep posted.

the Local 98 Mafia at their finest. Does this mean they'll be at all future county polls on election day beating up voters?

Keep up the good work on this Gil...a light shining might keep these people from harassing a small business person out of town.

btw---Local '98 already mans county polls on election and usually supports DELCO R's, not the D's. You see them in folcroft, glenolden, darby twp, tinicum, sharon hill pushing Statewide Dems and DELCO R's...watch in November 2009 to see what I mean.

Was there any reports of vandalism on the jobsite? -A typical union intimidation tactic.
No longer defenders but now the agressors, it is time to abolish greedy bullying labor unions as society needs protection from them.

The bully union should be sent the bill for the police protection needed to protect the jobsite from the bullying union vandals.

We sooo need to outlaw unions and lock these thugs up.

I know this woman personally and she is a kind, caring and generous person. She is simply trying to bring something good to the declining community of Lansdowne. Why can't people help instead of hurt? Go after the big wig companies not the little local ladies.
