A 10-months Yorkie-Pomeranian mix was killed during a burglary.

“Killing the dog was obviously a ceremonial, sadistic, brutal act,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. “Newman, who was angry at the complainant, was our focus the whole investigation. From the very beginning, we knew whoever was responsible for drowning the dog had a grudge to bear against the complainant. He’s mentally and emotionally sick to drown a dog and leave it on a frying pan on the floor.”


We await the suspect's defense. Those little dogs can be awfully yappy. Maybe something along the lines, "The little fella' just wouldn't shut up."

Then again, based on Chitwood's diagnosis, maybe an insanity defense would be more appropriate.
