What Would Mars Blackmon Say?

Iraqi "journalist" hailed as "hero" for attempted assault on the President of the United States.

It's gotta' be the shoes.

Attempted assault? In the Iraqi culture, exposing someone to the sole of your shoe is a just a big insult, like spitting on someone or mooning them. It wasn't like he threw "a rock" (Iraq, get it?)

This "journalist" didn't merely "expose him to the sole of his shoe", DDD. By throwing them at Bush’s head it was clearly an attempt to assault. Had he been able to get it past security, it is likely that he would have thrown something much more lethal.
But you well know all this.

See how Libs are as quick to abandon law as they are to abandon honesty whenever it’s something their feelings lead them to support.
Had this happened to, say, Obama DDD would be screaming about crime and punishment and racism.
Partisan liars are so predictable…

Bush went to Iraq (in secret) for a self proclaimed victory lap.
If you can't fly there, except in secret, it's not really a victory.

As for:
"Had he been able to get it past security, it is likely that he would have thrown something much more lethal."
See how quick the rabid right conjures non-existent threats.

"What if Saddam had the weapons that he doesn't actually have?" Ooh, let's invade his country because we can imagine him having weapons.

Yeah, Randal's right about this one.

If Anon-iano thinks throwing a shoe at a high-ranking public official is nothing more than an insult, we encourage him to give it a try and see what happens.

Spitting on someone is also assault. Mooning falls under the crime of indecent exposure.

Anon-iano, stick to flag burning that's still constitutionally protected insult speech

In Iraq, YES. Duh. That's the problem with your neocons. You refuse to understand the significance to other cultures of things that aren't insults here. It's like if Bush hosted an Israeli delegation and served them roast pork.

Again, Dishonest Dave, this terrorist didn't merely "expose the sole of his shoe to Bush".

And it speaks a great deal about your midset and mentality and your quality as a person that you aprove of this act only because you hate the President of the United States.

Gotta love that "tolerant" Modern Libism...

"terrorist"????
Wow. Look how low the bar is to call someone a terrorist.

Are shoes going to be far right's new "weapon of mass destruction" fear mongering target?

Oh, no! Iran has shoe factories! Let's invade them or bomb them.

Self-proclaimed victory lap,, you're pathetic.

I consider myself to a critical of Bush, maybe not as much as the elft, but I've had my issues. HOWEVER - When a foreigner attacks the President - THAT'S MY PRESIDENT - I have an issue with it. Insert Bush, Clinton, Obama, etc., the report attacked OUR PRESIDENT. This should be insulting to ALL Americans.

Instead, we have far left kooks like anon-iano making apologies and throwing together conspiracy theories like the victory lap insult. Sir, you are truly pathetic and an insult to our society.

Steve-
If you think Bush wasn't delving deeper into his own delusions with a victory lap, you are the one needing a reality check.

R-
What's an Elft? Do they work for Santat?

Again, no. Any president in his situation, leaving office would do the same, you just like to lap on the conspiracies like a jackass because you have a deep animosity towards him. Am I wrong? I doubt it.
