The Chicago Boys are far from impressed by Obama's reading list.

Money Q:

Michiko Kakutani of the New York Times is much impressed by the books Obama has read, or says he has read. I am almost in despair when I read the same list. Obama will be the commander in chief — but he appears to have read almost nothing on military history or strategy. And he does not seem to see that as a defect in his preparation for the presidency. There no books on science, technology, or economics in the list.

Check out a more updated Obama reading list:
Obama's read Adam Smith's "The Wealth of Nations". (an economics book) as well as Adam Smith's "The Theory of Moral Sentiments" which lays a moral ground for Smith's economic theories.
Caro's "The Power Broker" details the successes and failures in the making of New York City (and should serve Obama well as he revitalizes our cities and avoids landmines).

Also, his historical list includes books about Lincoln and FDR that faced major crises and rallied the nation.

Of course, this list doesn't include the rigorous briefings he gets on a wide range of subjects (during the transition, Obama was getting security briefings even on Sundays, though Bush didn't).

Though it's not listed in his "book" reading list: Obama has read and UNDERSTOOD the Constitution.

President Obama's reading list is much lower calorie and lighter than President Bush's. You can at least admit that can't you?
