Al Gore: Call Your Office

NASA reports that sun spot activity hits a 12-year low.

Could this have something to do with the global cooling period we are currently experiencing? Probably.

Despite what the CCHs (Climate Change Hysterics) say about man being responsible for global warming, many scientists recognize that over eons solar activity has a much more powerful effect on the world's climate than anything human beings can muster.

Maybe our new Superhero president will fly to the sun and order it to behave in a fashion more to His liking.

Gil - The change in sunspots has no significant effect on global warming or cooling. Here's part of an article about it.

"Direct satellite measurements of solar activity show it has been declining since the mid-1980s and cannot account for recent rises in global temperatures, according to new research.

The findings debunk an explanation for climate change that is often cited by people who are not convinced that greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are causing the Earth's climate to warm."

And yet computers models from the global warmists were all wrong about the speed of the warming.

Give me the link to that article and I'll check it out.

The Algore Doomsday clock is at 6 years, 9 months, 25 days, 2hours.
Since Bob believes in this global warming scam, he has undoubtedly given up saving for a future that is doomed.
Like Obama's budget, Bob is spending his retirement money and children's inheritance now.
Maybe we can get him to buy at the Locust Crest.

Gil -
Here is the article I got the quote from
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn12234

I've got two other articles for you.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11643
this one is excellent
http://www.skepticalscience.com/solar-activity-sunspots-global-warming.htm
because its got a lot of detail and has links to other important studies

And yet, this from the Boston Globe.

Money Q:

"Stock up on fur coats and felt boots!" advises Oleg Sorokhtin, a fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and senior scientist at Moscow's Shirshov Institute of Oceanography. "The latest data . . . say that earth has passed the peak of its warmer period, and a fairly cold spell will set in quite soon, by 2012."

Sorokhtin dismisses the conventional global warming theory that greenhouse gases, especially human-emitted carbon dioxide, is causing the earth to grow hotter. Like a number of other scientists, he points to solar activity - sunspots and solar flares, which wax and wane over time - as having the greatest effect on climate.

Dr. Will Happer, noted energy expert and Princeton physicist, calls fears over global warming "mistaken".
"I have spent a long research career studying physics that is closely related to the greenhouse effect", said Happer, "Fears about man-made global warming are unwarranted and are not based on good science."
In 1993, as director of energy research for the U.S. Department of Energy, he testified before Congress that the scientific data didn't support widespread fears about the dangers of the ozone hole and global warming, remarks that caused then-Vice President Al Gore to fire him.
"I was told that science was not going to intrude on public policy."

How can this be? I thought it was only the Bush Administration that prevented the American people from hearing the truth.
