Media, Democrats, Notre Dame vs. Catholic Teaching

John Kass explains the controversy over Notre Dame awarding Barack Obama an honorary degree and comes down on the side of well, Mary Ann Glendon.

Nuance is in, being principled is out.

"If they(Obama's daughters) made a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby"--Barack Obama
As a christian conceiving out side of marrage is not a mistake but istead a moral wrong and a (innocent) baby is not a punishment but instead a blessing.

how about a baby from a rape or incest? not a blessing.
how about a dangerous pregnancy that risks the mother's life? not a blessing either.
how about a kid with downs or some other birth defect? not a blessing.

Actually, I can vouch for kids with Downs. The ones I know are blessings through and through.

maybe a blessing for a married couple with good jobs and good health insurance

but for a jobless single pregnant teen, a special needs baby would be a total nightmare far beyond the regular nightmare that even a "normal" baby would be for a teen mom

abortion is the most sensible choice

Ah yes, "sensible" baby killings.

Some 85-90 percent of mothers who discover their unborn babies have Down syndrome kill them. The other 10 to 15 percent stupidly have them.

The list of couples willing to adopt Downs babies is usually in the hundreds. Better to sensibly kill them instead.

Such are the moral sensibilities of some "anonymous" pro-choicers.
