The Nut Store
ACORN rallies for a supermarket in Chester.
Hmm. If ACORN thinks it so important for the citizens of Chester to have a supermarket, why doesn't build them one? ACORN received tens of millions in federal funds over the last ten years, certainly enough to build a $4 million supermarket.
Recently, America learned ACORN was more interested in giving advice to hookers and pimps on how to import child prostitutes into this country than opening grocery stores for the poor.
It would probably be illegal for ACORN to use taxpayer money to open a for-profit business but why should that stop them? Poor people and their advocates can't be expected to obey the laws everybody else has to live by. It's just not fair.

So, on one hand you are suggesting that they build a supermarket using federal funds. Then you acknowledge that it would be illegal, but suggest they go ahead anyway. Besides setting up a stupid suggestion, then knocking it down, do you have anything constructive to offer?
Do you honestly think that the money ACORN received nationwide over the past ten years, hasn't been mostly spent? Or that there would be $4 million available to just Chester?
America didn't "learn" that Acorn was more interested in pimps and prostitutes. We did learn that people like you are eager to tear down organizations that help the poor. Shame on you.
Aren't there laws against recording people without their knowledge? Oh, wait, I guess in your world, they can't be expected to obey the laws everybody else has to live by.
they might as well a non, there's no way on earth a supermarket chain wants to open up in chester at a loss. should we shame them for not doing it anyway?
"Constructive?" As in leading a protest to demand somebody build you a supermarket in an area where the likelihood of it making a profit is close to nil?
"Organizations that help the poor?" As in suing the state of California to be exempt from paying their own workers the state minimum wage?
Shame on me?
Shame on you for defending a corrupt organization that uses taxpayer money for partisan political purposes in the name of helping the poor. An organization that has been caught commiting voter registration fraud and giving undercover gonzo activists advice on how to break the law.
Learn the rules Shank-A-Nonymous.
It may be illegal in some states to record individuals without their knowledge but catching tax-subsidized poverty pimps advising people on how to commit crimes is a public service. No wonder ACORN is now radioactive on Capitol Hill.
P.S. There are plenty of very worthwhile organizations that help the poor in this country. Both secular and religious; public and private. ACORN is not one of them.
So, it's okay to build a soccer stadium there, but not a supermarket?
How do you know that a supermarket can't make a profit in Chester? It's not like the residents are growing their own food.
If you lived in Chester, you'd be the ones complaining the loudest about not having a supermarket.
I was against the use of taxpayer money to build a soccer stadium.
People live in Chester and manage to get themselves to food stores down the road in places like Eddystone and Brookhaven.
If Shank-A-Nonymous thinks it such a great idea to open a supermarket in Chester, he/she can get a group of private investors together and build one. Good luck.
Shank A Nonymous should use his own money to build that supermarket. What a wonderful thing it will be too - he should be able to make trillions, all while secluding himself in his cozy office behind his keyboard and monitor.

low returns in the supermarket biz and added security/loss prevention will guarantee it. research the industry.
