Scuzzy Political Thinking
Stu Rothenberg backhands the leftist's meme on the failure of Republicans to win in New York 23rd District. It had nothing to do with the party faithful rejecting a moderate candidate.
Dede Scozzafava, the choice of ridiculously out of touch GOP bosses, was a far-left liberal who supports gay marriage, abortion on demand and Obama's huge stimulus plan that not a single Republican in the house supported.
Call her what you want but Republican "moderate" doesn't apply.

More and more Republicans are supporting gay marriage as a conservative principle: Marriages bring stability. Besides, we are finding more and more gay republicans.
The author shows his whole premise to be a lie with the following:
"Of course, Scozzafava would have in all likelihood held the seat for the GOP if Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman had not been in the race. And Hoffman might not have held it as the Republican nominee."
He's acknowledging that the VOTERS in that district disagreed with the far-conservationism that Hoffman represented. The moderate Republicans in the electorate recognize a pro-worker, pro-individual rights moderate.
wow, your typing is awfully familiar. are you sure you're a 29 year old female? have you ever taken a sociology course?
i can no longer take 'a nonymous' seriously - i think we all know why!
Stevie-
Why does your typing always keep changing? Here you are typing in all lower case, but in the earlier topic "GOP Has a Good Night" you used mixed case. How many different personalities do you have? Are some male and some female?
Do you believe everything you read in a profile? Your profile lists your occupation as "He-Whore".
Sociology? Is that more right wing, Glen Beck style, nonsense about liberals being socialists?
yeah, good luck with the theory on me. I'll add a few points if you need so you can attempt to build a case.
Why are you utilizing a pathetic ID such as "a nonymous", and why are you so quick to defend yourself on this one? Quit the crap anduse your real ID, Mr D. Shall I return to following up every post with "Reveal thyself"?
Steve,
The person to whom you refer is not welcome to post on this blog. He knows the reasons why. And he knows what he has to do to have his posting privileges restored.
If he doesn't remember, he can contact me and I'll let him know.
Gil,
You're being blog-stalked in one of the most creepy forms imaginable. He needs help.
The person you are referring to must have done something truly awful to not be welcome here.
It must be worse than excusing those protesters with Obama=Hitler signs, because other protesters wrongly equated Bush with Hitler. (see Gil's attack on Krugman)
It must be worse than the personal attacks you, Jake, Steve and Scott engage in regularly against elected Democrats. (Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Reid, etc.)
It must be worse than declaring or insinuating that liberals are traitors or worse.(Penn, Krugman, Gore, etc.)
It's hard to imagine someone posting anything worse than the initial topics Gil creates, except pointing this out.
Steve, Obsessiano is at it again.
I posted a reasonable response on the topic of Scozzafava and the Republican party. It was answered by probes into my identity (rather than the substance of my argument) and the behavior of some past blogger here.
This is quite ironic watching Steve and Gil obsessing over someone they claim is obsessed with them. It's like a couple of school girls with a secret crush vying for the attention of a guy that's too busy to notice them.
Circling back to the original topic... this is what's fundamentally wrong with the Republican party. They can't win on the merits of policy, so they resort to distractions, litmus tests and character attacks. There is a consistent unwillingness (and inability) to engage in rational debate.
In the 5 stages of grief, over the dying conservative movement, you guys seem to be stuck between denial and anger. Since there can be no "bargaining" with moderates like Scozzafava, it's going to be a slow, painful death.
