Sobering news from Punxsutawney

I guess Punxsutawney Phil meant business.

The furry prognosticator and world’s most famous groundhog – as oppposed to that critter hawking lottery tickets – emerged from his hole amid the non-stop partying at Gobbler’s Notch and delivered some sobering news.

Winter is going anywhere. Phil of course saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter. And just to add an exclamation point, he gave us a reminder over night, a dusting of snow.

It was enough to create some delayed school openings, including Upper Darby here in Delco.

But the real thunder from Phil might arrive Friday night. A nor’easter is coming up the Atlantic Coast and is expected to dump some more serious snowfall on the region.

Thanks, Phil.

No go back in your burrow.

Which is probably not a bad idea since you can pretty much guarantee the only news we are going to hear for the next three days is the approaching storm.

Beat the crowd, head to the store for milks and bread now.
