Phil,
I see all of these new writers and blogs pop up on the site, congrats. I'm slightly jealous of the beer blog (Could have done one myself) but I do enjoy it. I also look forward to whoever takes on a Media Blog for delcotimes.
You mentioned transitioning into the future of Delco Times by seeking out community bloggers. Have you considered expanding the web presence by way of video reporting and original programming? I ask because "I've heard" that a certain paper in a nearby big city seems to have accomplished such a task in the last two years with web shows involving areas such as sports, gossip, mafia stories, cooking, wine, the shore, sports, beer, etc - all with a philadelphia flavor. In addition, they also seem to have increased their number of reporters via blogs - these reporters represent neither of this competitor's two daily publications. I could see something similar celebrating the vibrant and active county that is Delaware: Local Sports, the great debate (Jack Mccafrey & crew debate sports issues), Hidden Delco treasures, a beer show, restaurant reviews, 'around delco' show highlighting weekend events, delco political news (a.k.a 90% darby borough squabbles and some county council news), and of course, Gil and Steve on cigars. Each show could have sponsors with ads that appear at the bottom of the screen during the video. I can't comment on the success of the 'other paper I've heard of' but it seems to be working of they are continuing to expand their offerings.
