Harry Kalas passes away

As I said, I'm not in DC.

I'm tuned into Comcast, who is reporting Harry Kalas died this afternoon after collapsing before today's game in D.C.

I'm speechless, since long before I started covering the Phillies, I was a fan and enjoyed listening to Harry so much.

This is very, very upsetting. Every single Phillies memory I have is directly tied to Harry's voice describing what I was seeing. My heart not only goes out to the Kalas Family but to every Phillies fan.

Oh my... that's heart-breaking. Listening to the Phillies games will not be the same without him -- he has been the voice of the Phillies for as long as I can remember. But at least he got to see the Phillies win another World Series, got to throw out the opening pitch at the ring ceremony game. And as I believe he said when Ritchie Ashburn died, at least he died doing what he loved.
