Another three-year deal? Ruiz deal looks close to finished

According to a report by CSNPhilly.com, the Phillies and Carlos Ruiz have reached a three-year, $9 million deal that is pending a physical.

The deal would be the third and final multi-year contract the Phils have hammered out with arbitration-eligible players in the last four days.

The contract won't be confirmed by the team until Ruiz takes a physical, which may not be until later this week. Ruiz hit .255 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs in 2009.

He's caught every inning of every playoff game in the last three seasons.
