Rise and Shine --- Gadgets

Good Morning and welcome to a new world!

Well, OK, it's the same old world where hate-mongers throw out misinformation about health care and expect the masses to pick up torches.
Talk about partisan politics. How about offering some solutions when trying to rebuff the president's speach? Nah, we'll just throw out unsubstantiated opinions and see what sticks.
Anyway, the bigger news yesterday seemed to be the new iPad from Apple. It really doesn't appear to be the 'kill-all' that everybody predicted, but, seeing what Apple has done to the cell phone, the next generatiion of iPad will do everything.
Think about the perfect strategy of this company. Create a demand, upgrade the hardware, leave everybody else in the dust.
Pretty soon, the iPad will be everything from an e-reader to a phone. It might even cook your dinner. What's been proven in the past decade is you can't count Steve Jobs out. Now, if the rest of the business world would follow this model.

Rise and Shine --- Technology sucks

Good Morning and welcome to the day before the day before the start of summer!

Yeah, summer as in, rain, rain, rain. I guess everybody who pays those outlandish fees for swim clubs are pretty happy about the late spring weather.
Meanwhile, talking about the land of stupid people, apparently people are standing in line outside of Apple stores around the country to purchase the newest iPhone.
Yay! It's here! It's here! Get out the umprellas, let's camp out in front of a store.
Look, I like toys as much as the next person. As we move into the next phase of the digital world, everybody is going to need something like the iPhone to stay connected.
To stand in line overnight to be the first to get the new one is just plain silly.
Then again...

RISE AND SHINE

GOOD MORNING DELAWARE COUNTY

It's a wet and somewhat slippery morning out there, so be careful taking the young ones to school and getting to work.

Well, it appears Super Bowl Weekend is kicking off in, well, annoying fashion. There are a lot of people down at the Wachovia Center watching a bunch of guys eat.
Sounds like a good way to spend the morning.
On second thought, I'd rather have a stomach ailment.

Anyway, the Super Bowl has morphed into a big party day, with the game becoming background noise. The biggest buzz seems to be about the commercials.
One question: If businesses are doing so bad, how can they spend millions for 30 seconds of airtime?
While there have been some good ads over the years, most end up like the game itself - disappointing.
There are some classics of course and here are five that stand the test of time.
Mean Joe Green and the kid
Apple 1984
Larry Bird and Michael Jordan play H-O-R-S-E
Frogs learn to talk
David Letterman and Oprah are a match

Do you have another favorite, let me know at onlinedelco@gmail.com

Enjoy the game, enjoy the parties, enjoy the commercials and have a great weekend.
