election, schmelection

so, as the pa primary draws near, there is more discussion than i can handle of slip-ups and mistakes and what is wrong with this candidate and what that candidate failed at.
i wish there would be more positive discourse over what these fine people have done right, and more importantly, what they will do in the future. although, it might be a little hard to do, since Obama and Clinton are in fact so similar in positioning and quality. it is kind of exciting to be involved in a political scene that has an actual choice to make. we have three candidates left who all seem that they might be good leaders.
obviously, McCain would be a different type of leader than either of the dems, but he might do a good job as well.
what i like more about obama and clinton both though, is that they have this ability to inspire people to move and get involved.
what scares me about them is that this long, drawn out process has served to splinter the democratic party. while i don't really feel like i identify with either party most of the time, i definitely feel the dems more this time around. at least on the national level. local politics are a totally different animal and i actually think i voted an even split on the local level this past fall.
who knows, the dream ticket of Obama, Clinton might happen after all. that might be the only way to mend the fences or heal the wounds or whatever lame metaphor you want to use.
whatever happens, it'll be an interesting fall...
