This weekend looks interesting...
Springsteen on the Parkway in Philly stumping for Obama.
More movies opening to wide release than most weekends that i can remember. I think eight major releases. A few of them seem pretty good too. Blindness, Choke goes wide, Nick and Norah..., The Express, How to Lose Friends..., Religulous and Ballast (limited release) all look pretty decent.
Then there are Beverly Hills Chihuahua, American Carol, and Flash of Genius. What the eff?
A touching Greg Kinear piece about the guy who invented the intermittent wipers? A spoof movie from David Zucker that is a shot at Michael Moore? Beverly Hills Chihuahua?
George Lopez, Salma Hayek and Drew Barrymore as voices of dogs? Come on!
Chris Farley's less funny but sadly still alive younger brother taking political shots at the left-wing? How did this get made? The last thing Zucker did that was even funny was BASEketball in 1998. Oh Airplane! seems sooooooooooooooo far away.
And i usually think Kinnear picks good projects (usually), but i can't see any interest in the story of the guy who made wipers have a delay function.
Really, Hollywood has run out of good stories to tell.
