Borough Council Re-Organization

It was a new beginning for Newtown Borough Council on January 7, 2008. Four new Council members, with two returning, make up the Council with three Republicans and three Democrats and a Republican mayor.
Newcomer Robert Walker, Jr. was sworn in by Mayor Glenn Hains at the December 11 meeting since he had been appointed following the resignation of Richard Tomlinson.
The Honorable Cynthia Weaver Rufe of the U.S. District Court of Eastern Pennsylvania conducted the swearing-in ceremonies. Sworn in were Judith S. Musto as Tax Collector, and new Council members: Gerard O'Malley, Michael Sellers, and Julia Woldorf.
