State Law?

Isn’t there a state law that would override Mayor Palmer’s threat to raise the city’s property taxes by 67 percent if the water sale doesn’t go through? If I’m not mistaken, there is a state law that prohibits raising the property tax that much each year.

Well it’s a moot point, as it turns out. The water sale is going through, which means ... well, what exactly does it mean?— Ed Note

Yes there is. In Governor Corzines State of the State report July 07'
he set a TAX CAP of 4%. Which means Palmer cannot raise taxes over that percentage. Palmers mention of a 67% increase was a tax threat and nothing else. Palmer is not only Mayor of Thug Town U.S.A., he also uses thug tactics. By the way the Water Deal isn't a foregone conclusion. There will be an appeal. If Palmer was so sure all was well, he wouldn't continue to use his TAX THREAT.

I-cosign. Palmer isn't so sure all is well, even though he got a favorable decision from Judge Fineberg. Palmer knows most of her decisions are overturned anyway. And if it is, he'll have to go back to the books. His tax threat is illegal and he knows it.

Anybody know what the procedure is to impeach Palmer?

How much longer do we have to put up with him anyway?
