News, insights and analysis on the Rutgers football program

Let's play some football, eh?

Greetings from the Rogers Centre, where Rutgers and Ball State are set to battle in the second annual International Bowl.

Good job by Paul Franklin from the Home News Tribune, who convinced the people handling the food here in the press box to start serving it (and by it, I mean hot dogs) at 11:15 instead of 11:45. I thought the food would be at least as good as the food in the regular season at Big East stadiums, but I was wrong.

There are about 8,000 Rutgers fans here and about 2,500 Ball State fans. Just about all of the Ball State fans  -- and the Ball State team -- were at the Sheraton Centre hotel, where I stayed. The Cardinal mascot was even walking around in costume, posing for pictures with children.

The Blue Jays "level of excellence" is right next to the press box, and I'm sitting just below Tony Fernandez's retired #1.
