Finally...some fair coverage. I was beginning to think the Berts-Mont was too far liberal. It's great to see news on this national hero.

People please, some common sense. Republicans only want to kill you. They don't care about global warming!!!! Al Gore and Ted Danson both said we have less then 10 years left before it will be too late! Electing McCain will ensure that New York is underwater before his term is over! There is no sunblock powerful enough to save you from the temps that are coming! Wake up!!!

I disagree about global warming which is by far the biggest Democratic lie since believing aborting babies doesn't end a life. I will agree that the editor does look like Mr. mandel though.

Kudos to McCain for even bothering to come to PA after the election, this state hasn't gone anything but democrat in years and I doubt 2008 will be any different.

And I'd also like to open case 3...

Hello all. My friend Esther told me there was some interesting political discussion to be had hear, but I don't understand what she meant. All I see are a bunch of rambliongs from peoplethat don't understand politics and some useless banter about bald people.

Since I'll obviously not get any smart political debates going here, I'll comment on the only thing you seem focused on: bald men. I myself went bald in my twenties and resent when people always make comments that I look like any of the few bald celebrities that exist, such as Patrick Stewert or Scott hamilton. Why not just say he looks like a cancer patient and really be offensive?!?

Saying a bald person 'looks' like someone because they're bald is like saying all blacks look like Wersley Snipes or all mexicans look like that guy who has that comedy sitcom (Rodregius something?!?). It's offensive and unjust and in my opinion, it's racist in its' own way. Bald people can't help being bald just like any other minority can't help being what they are... so please people...enough with the jokes.

Please don't crap all over this news item. Can we stay focused on the topic at hand which is that a hero has visited us and we should be honored. And it's called the BERKSmont, not the BERTSmont Times. The former is the way it's spelled...I think you had Sesame Street on the brain when you wrote that, Leaning Right. I'm not insulting you (especailly since we're both McCain maniacs) but I figured I'd mention it.

McCain in 2008... for change!

Vote for the lifting of the gas tax this summer... vote for McCain. Or Hillary for that matter. But no Osama Bin Barrack. C'mon Bergs-Mont Times. Use your jornalistic abilities to reveal the truth about these candidates.

Wow. Does anyone else think Herb is waaay too sensitive about being bald? Of course not all bald people look the same, but that doesn't mean "berksmont news" doesn't look like Howie Mandel, only fatter!

As for McCain, I would have preferred one of the other GOP primary candidates, but given the other choices I guess he's the best we can get, but not by much.

I resent the editor's comment that "we strive for balanced coverage." What a bald-faced lie.

My biggest complaint as a die-hard Republican is that the picture that was used has McCain behind a blue background. Blue? BLUE?!?!?!? Does anyone NOT know that Republicans are represented by the color red?

This is another example of a news service that secretly is imposing their political views on the public in non-descript, subversive ways. This picture should be retouched to be RED. If not, then I suspect the Berds-Mont Times is a liberal newspaper hiding under the guise of being equal and fair.

Perhaps the BerksMont Times was just going with the traditional colors for each party. Before the 2000 election, dems were always associated with the color red, no doubt since their politics were so close to their communist friends!

Someone mentioned that the Howie Mandel look-alike was fatter than the real person, I agree.

But check out this picture I found when I googled his name and images:

Clearly the man knows his way around a buffet table, but he doesn't look anything like Howie Mandel there!

Aha! Your lack of response only proves the paper's culpability. The Berggs-Mont Times is right up there with MSNBC, spinning their political views by hiding them in covert ways. I'm sure this site will become Obama-central once Hillary backs out after last nights's upset.
