Boys' playoff preview

Here are some tidbits on the upcoming L-L boys' playoff teams:
Section One
McCaskey Red Tornado
Section One champs
League Record: 16-0
Overall Record: 19-4
Key Losses: Norristown, 78-70: Chester, 71-55; Reading, 101-78 and York 64-60.
Common opponents with Columbia: Ephrata, win, 76-55.
Coach: Steve Powell, recently won 300th game.
Key Players: Lamar Patterson, junior, verbal committment to Pitt; senior Jaren Harris.
Leading scorers (league games): Patterson, 20.3; Harris, 14.7.
Top Foul Shooters: Leontae Turner, 82 percent; Jamaal Parker, 78 percent; Javonne King, 70 percent.
Three-pointers: Patterson, 14 and Turner 13.
Hempfield Black Knights
Section One runners-up.
League Record: 13-3
Overall Record: 17-6
Key Losses: McCaskey, twice, once in OT and another at the buzzer; Lebanon inovertime; Red Lion, Sherwood and Cedar Crest in three OT.
Coach: Warren Goodling, 23 years, closing in on 400 wins.
Key Players: Senior Jordon Stewart and senior Mark Kreider.
Leading scorers (league games): Stewart 14.9; Kreider, 10.9.
Top Foul Shooters: Eddie Gailor, 82 percent; Kreider, 69 percent; Chris Walck, 69 percent.
Three-pointers: Gailor, 16 and Stewart 10.
Common opponents with Columbia: Tulpehocken, 78-51 in; Lebanon, 56-53 overtime loss; Ephrata, 69-62 win and Lancaster Mennonite, 50-33 win.
Conestoga Valley Buckskins
Section Two champs

Key Losses: Reading, 96-46; Lancaster Catholic, Hempfield and McCaskey.
Coach: Brad Herr, first year.
Key Players: Senior Joe Fuller; senior Dan Kreider; junior Jeremy Skloloda.
Leading scorers (league games): Kreider, 14.0; Skoloda, 13.8.
Top Foul Shooters: Skoloda,77 percent; Kreider, 76 percent; Ross Hall, 74 percent.
Three-pointers: Skoloda and Fuller 15.

Elizabethtown Bears

Lebanon Cedars
Section Three champs
League Record: 12-4
Overall Record: 15-7
Key Losses: Columbia, 72-58
Coach: Craig Colletti, first year at Lebanon. Have lost three of last five.
Common opponents with Columbia: All of Section 4 – they were 4-2 crossover games, plus all of Section 3.
Manheim Central Barons
Section Three runners-up
League Record: 11-5.
Overall record: 15-8.
Coach: Chris Sherwood, second year.
Key Losses: Columbia, 63-51.
Common opponents: All of Section Four – they were 3-3 in crossover games, plus all of Section 3 and Ephrata, who they lost to 57-45.

We all know about the two teams from Section 4, along with the key players from Lebanon and Manheim Central.
