quite a nice surprise!
So, I walked into the newsroom today and was greeted with a surprise that left me feeling deeply honored. A package was on my desk from Mayor Dick Yoder, and when I opened it, I discovered a kind thank you note from the Mayor and the police department due to my time as a reporter. Another package was inside of the envelope, and I discovered I have been given the key to the borough! The gift really surprised me, and I'm going to be sure to display it in my new home, once I begin graduate school in the coming weeks.
It's been a blast covering the West Chester beat for as long as I have. I've enjoyed all of the issues that have gone on here and providing news to residents. West Chester has been my home since I was a student at the university. I've been here about five and a half years, and I've enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm certainly going to be sad to leave the paper tomorrow and move out of Chester County on Sunday, but I feel so honored to take such a nice gift with me on behalf of borough officials.
