Scaling back

After eight hours of workouts in two days, Mo Cheeks decided to cut back on Thursday to one longer session running from 11 a.m. till about 2 p.m.

It’s probably a good idea. By Wednesday, players were feeling the physical twinges that always accompany the start of camp.

Plus, the team will go twice on Friday, including an evening workout on the main court of the Bryce Jordan Center that will be open to the public.

The good news was that Andre Iguodala, who sat out Wednesday with a sprained ankle, was able to take part, even in the scrimmage that concluded practice.

The weather in State College hasn’t been as nice as it is near Philadelphia. In fact, the high today was only supposed to hit 55, and the sun keeps coming and going.

A few of the reporters hit that old Happy Valley standby, The Corner Room, for lunch yesterday. Except for the menu, it’s changed little since I went to school here (we won’t mention how many years ago that was).
