The Walker circus has been in town for a year now, but it only features clowns. Their funny, but we've had enough. I can't wait until they leave town for good.

I agree, The Walker/Dean/Matthews Circus is here everyday and they seem to have a new "act" each week, the only problem is the citizens of Coatesville have a admission ticket weather they want one or not. And some of the circus "acts" (dumb moves) are not always funny or entertaining!

The admission to this circus is that If you live within the city limits you pay property, school, and EIT tax of 2.5%, which entitles you to the front row seat. The HIGHEST taxes within Chester County.

The rest of the County, watches AND laughs for less...

Good going Patsy, and the rest of the clowns running out of the "Clown Car".

I will be attending the circus. After the show I will be having dinner in Bart Blatstein's upscale restaurant in a building that even the DLN moved outo of, then I will be heading up stream (Riverwalk) and play a quick 18 holes at the Iron Hawk course with the ringmaster...Paul Janssen. Green fees only 21 million dollars. A true bargain for us broke taxpayers.

Thank You Paul!!

Paul Jansen is gone, lets talk about today. The last council raised property taxes 80 percent and trash fees 140 percent. All that is a fact. Now lets move on to the problems of today. With the large tax and fee increase why can't the current council balance the budget? Is it because they have hired people who have no idea how to run a city and are over paid? I'm sure there are many other faults in the current administration, but the two that I mentioned stand out.

8:54 - get a real life - it started with Jansen, but guess what - compared to the Walker circus and what the end results of these clown's plans are - makes Jansen's screw-up small potatoes. This is the here and now - Jean Krack made sure the Sahas were given what monies they really, really deserved and thanks for that. It's what is happening right now that we MUST continue to address until it ends. The dead horse has already gone to horsie heaven - no more to be said.

The "horsie" may be in horsie heaven, but you will be paying for it's funeral for a long, long time! That's why the past cannot be forgotten. There is still 7 million dollers that the RDA owes that is due in full next Aug 08. I believe that debt came from our friend the dead "horsie."

Lets not forget that Krack was indeed the most qualified and logical choice to take Janssens place and he had from the beginning of April 05 until March 06 to make something happen and he couldn't do it either. Anyone that thinks that there is a man alive that could recover this city from a 21 million dollar blunder in a year or two is a FOOL. The effects of this will be felt by Coatesvillians for years to come.

I dont know what the answer is, but I do know that the future is grim only because of the past. I'm not saying that the current administration has not made any mistakes, but I don't think we are done with feeling the effects of the past...not even close. Someone has to take a good hard look at where we are now and be realistic. Over-jealousness, over-estimation of revenue and under-estimation of expenses is what put us in this position. Lets face it, a good deal of you bloggers were the "horsies" biggest cheerleader. The only problem is that the "horsie" was bet on using taxpayers money. A good dose of realism is a tough pill to swallow. Until people are willing to do that instead of sitting around on the computer and throwing stones, we will continue to fall farther behind. How can you say that there is a concern when only 8 percent of the registered voters got out and cast their votes in the last electon. Thats pretty sad....

11:03 I will agree with you on one point and that is the fact that only a very small percentage of voters cast their ballots is, indeed, sad; however, the budget was balanced before Krack left. What exactly happened to put the City back into a $1.5 million shortage AGAIN!! Doesn't have anything to do with Jansen or Krack. So the money was taken from the trust - how did we get the debt again? I'll tell you - THIS administration got us there by paying higher wages to less competent people, defending themselves in law suits that shouldn't have happened (legal fees) and the total inability to manage funds. They (this administration) even managed to loose grants and other funding due to their lack of knowledge in this area too. The facts stare you in the face every day that this group remains in office. I say nice going Bloc for hiring some of the most unintelligent staff in Coatesville history. There is no comparison to what the last administration did to what the current one is doing. Facts remain no matter how heavy the smoke screen.

Let's not forget the jockey who rode the present council into town. Saha and his donations lead to this council being elected. Whatever happened to that "rag" Sellers published, for all the shots he took at Jansen and crew, you would think he'd have a field day on this group. Oh yeah , didn't he help with those ballot questions that tied the city up for years and cost millions to prove unconstitutional.
There is plenty of blame to spread around, on both sides. The real problem now is this joke of a city government we have. I keep checking Patsy Ray's website to find out what is "really " happening. Guess what? There ia nothing there, oh that's right this group is doing nothing.
This stuff is priceless. Truth is stranger than fiction. You couldn't make this up. I'm gonna write a screenplay (comedy/drama/horror) that should make millions
