In-Game Blog, Game 1, NLDS Phils-Rockies

Well, we are one-third of the way through this game and the MVP candidates haven't exactly risen to the occasion. The Rockies lead, 3-0, but Matt Holliday could have buried the Phils in the second inning when he stepped to the plate with the bases juiced and two outs against a reeling Cole Hamels. He struck out to keep the Phils within striking distance.
Jimmy Rollins, meanwhile, struck out to open the game. That certainly set the table, considering the next three batters all whiffed against lefty Jeff Francis. Then after Hamels had to do the dirty work and get the Phils' first postseason hit, Rollins grounded into an inning-ending double play.
I'm going to say this before it sounds like Monday-morning QBing: I don't like either of Manuel's difficult lineup decisions. Jayson Werth should have started this game in right field, not Shane Victorino. And Carlos Ruiz should have been given another day to rest his sore elbow. I know Charlie wanted to go with speed by starting Shane, but Werth knocked Francis around in his last start and Francis is a lefty with a very good move to first, which neutralizes Victorino.

As I mentioned in the game breakdown in the tab, four times in the teams' seven regular-season meetings one of the teams had a 3-0 lead and went on to lose the game.
Trying to give you people a glimmer of hope here.
