Grim Fairy Tale for the Clintons

Quick question:

Does anyone deny that if Barack Obama were not "black," his appeal to most voters would be severely diminished? (In so far as he is bi-racial: black father, white mother, I think it's fair to put his race quotes.)

I'm not saying Obama isn't a smart guy and an excellent speaker. But he is woefully short on political experience. He has no governing record and his legislative accomplishments are basically non-existent.

Isn't it his racial make-up his most interesting quality? His message of "hope" would sound vapid, if not ridiculous, coming from a white politician.

There really is a "fairy tale" quality to his candidacy. No wonder Bill and Hillary Clinton and being driven nuts by him.

UPDATE: Terrence Corcoran raises some of the same questions about Obama I've been wondering about.

Of course it’s only because he’s black. The Left has decided they want a black -any black- in that office and they don’t care that everything about him is hollow. They’ve even turned on their beloved Mr.&Mrs. Willie because of it. And kids support him because this is the first black since an entire generation of kids has been brainwashed with White Guilt and all that Lib “diversity” horsecrap.
His campaign has brought out all the black racists and Dave Dianos defending that racism and bullying any doubters into silence with their racial PC. And the Black candidate has been protected by the Apologist Lib Media. That sure is some “change” and “unity” Barrack Hussein Obama is touting. Sounds more like the same old one-sided divisive racial crap to me. Compared to all that even Hillary is starting to look good. And I never thought I'd say that.

Seriously, the Left’s support of Barrack Hussein Osama is cultish. He could literally stand up and declare that he has no plans whatsoever and announce that whitey better watch it now because “The brothas and da sistas are running dis country!” and the idiot whites on the Left would still embrace him while the black racists wept tears of joy. And the Lib Press would carry it as just another political speech. How f-ing f-ed up is that?

Randal,

Weak. Just weak.

If you're not a racist, you sure sound like one more often than not.

Spencer-
Thanks for jumping in and calling Racial Randal on the obvious.

Barack's appeal to "most" voters is not because he is black, as "most" voters would either prefer "white" or at least believe that "white" was more electable (until Iowa). His "blackness" comes into play largely because of how he overcame racial prejudices/disadvantages to become a such success.

People view his story as proof of the American Dream: work hard and you will succeed, because American is the land of opportunity. Also, because Barack is NOT tied the the civil rights movements of the 60's and 70's, like Jesse Jackson, he is NOT tied to any of the baggage from that era, which hurt previous black candidates.

As for his record:
"As a state legislator, Obama gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws. He sponsored a law enhancing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare. Obama also led the passage of legislation mandating videotaping of homicide interrogations, and a law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped. During his 2004 general election campaign for U.S. Senate, he won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, whose president credited Obama for his active engagement with police organizations in enacting death penalty reforms."
"He was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2004 with 70% of the vote. As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he co-sponsored bipartisan legislation for controlling conventional weapons and for promoting greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the current 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation on lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel. "

You will find nothing racist in my above posts.
G, you’re the one who said that Obama was nothing of a candidate but for his blackness. Some would call you a racist for speaking this simple truth as well.
And if we’re gonna be assigning silly labels, put me down for racist any day, that’s better than being a pathetic apologist like Dave.

As for his record:
Ol’ B. Hussein Obama can be plenty black when he wants to be.
Check out his church.

This is the web page for the church Barack Obama belongs to: www.tucc.org/about.htm

For a second there, it seemed like Randal was going to write: "that's better than being a race traitor.."

The black racists hate you too for your skin color. They just tolerate your kind because you do their bidding. Kinda like how you Lefties also assist our terrorist enemies, and yet they still hate you just as much as they hate me …but you help them. Talk about useful idiot… with strong emphasis on “idiot”. Those Lib misplaced sympathies will do that to a weak mind.
