Junkies Face Death Penalty

Apparently, we have been misreporting that David Galdo and Krystal Mariani were boyfriend and girlfriend when they allegedly killed Galdo's 85-year-old great aunt for drug money.

According to Galdo's lawyer, Mariani was Galdo's "ex-girlfriend."

A note found in the car and dated March 15 was signed by Mariani, authorities said. It stated: “I wish I was what you wanted.”

Sad that. But that's what addictions do to people. In any case, given their circumstances, a reconciliation seems unlikely.

This is a sad sad case. I have met Mr. Galdo on occassions in trying to help him get clean and off drugs and in turn have come in contact with the aunt he killed. She would shed tears for her great nephew and wanted nothing more but to see him well. This shows people how drugs can truley take over someone's life.

It is not drugs that cause such behavior. That’s just symptomatic and has become an excuse for poor behavior in our Libbed society that wants to remove personal responsibility and not judge people based on their actions and choices. The problem is rooted in one’s personality.

Case in point: A dear friend of mine just went through an ugly divorce during which there was much hand-wringing talk of her ex’s drug and alcohol use contributing to the abuse and ultimate failure of the marriage. Crap. The guy is just a selfish a-hole jerk. I saw it before he ever touched drink or drug. He was a selfish a-hole before and since he got clean he is still a selfish a-hole. Clearly it is his personality and character that are flawed that causes him to be a selfish a-hole, not drugs and drink. The marriage was doomed due to his selfish a-holeism, not drugs or drink. He would still have been a selfish a-hole –clearly an ingrained personality trait in this jerk- if he lived on a deserted island or there was no such things as drugs and booze. Period.

ok randal, so you mean that those who suffer from drug addiction and have hurt themselves and their families terribly were all simply aholes from the getgo? this guy would have killed his aunt if he wasn't on drugs, his problems rooted in his personality would have lead him to do this even if he had never taken drugs? Randal, you are a dumbass!

Ok, I have worked in the drug and alcohol field for several years and ADDICTION is not an excuse. It is real and people do things for drugs and while on drugs that they would not if they were of rational mind. Randal, since you are so educated why don't you do some research.

Drug adiction is not a "disease". It is a strong want of weak people.

To all:

The law does not classify alcoholism or drug addiction as disabilities for purposes of the ADA or the PHRC.

Classic. You have been brainwashed by our Libbed society to sympathize with druggie losers and to become offended, attack even, anyone who dares voice anything contrary to that Lib prescribed backward view. You are the one with the problem, my friend, not me. I’m guessing that you also go along with everything you have been told you should be mad about (Bush etc.) Try thinking for yourself for a change. Or, short of that, at least stop attacking those of us who do.

Correct me if I’m wrong, Mr. S…
How f-ing messed up is it that our Libbed society legally considers being under the influence of illegal drugs as a mitigating factor when a crime is committed? Yep, if a scumbag was under the influence at the time they committed their crime this can be used as an excuse to lessen the penalty for their crime, as if the perp were somehow a victim too. Thank Liberal misplaced sympathies for druggies, criminals and losers for this backward horsecrap.
Drug use at the time of crime should be an aggravating factor, NOT mitigating.
No wonder our society is still overrun with violent criminals in 2008. Until we abandon our soft Lib approach to crime and punishment and adopt a hard line against them we can expect more of the same.

See how misplaced sympathies of backwards Liberalism causes very real and tangible harm to our society. It’s not all just bleeding heart touchy-feely fun and games.
