Man Bites Dog, Dems Bash Teachers Unions
Wow! Mickey Kaus reports that Democrats, DEMOCRATS may finally be getting it when it comes to teachers unions.
At a panel on Education, one panelist said: When the childrens agenda runs up against the adult agenda, too often the adult agenda wins.
Then Cory Booker of Newark attacked teachers unions specifically--and there was applause. In a room of 500 people at the Democratic convention!
"The politics are so vicious," Booker complained, remembering how he'd been told his political career would be over if he kept pushing school choice, how early on he'd gotten help from Republicans rather than from Democrats. The party would "have to admit as Democrats we have been wrong on education." Loud applause! Mayor Adrian Fenty of D.C. joined in, describing the AFT's attempt to block the proposed pathbreaking D.C. teacher contract. Booker denounced "insane work rules," and Groff talked about doing the bidding of "those folks who are giving money [for campaigns], and you know who I'm talking about." Yes, they did!

Just look at what all that Libism has done to Education.
It is well time we outlawed not only teacher strikes but greedy extortionist teacher unions.

Most teacher union “negotiations” are extortionist demands for personal gain that have nothing to do with benefiting the kids they’re supposed to be educating.
The school year is about to start again and just sure as the leaves will soon start falling, teachers are starting to make noise about their contracts. They had all summer to strike but they wait until that threat generates attention and fear as the semester is about to start. This leveraging, holding hostage kids’ educations, is despicable and is NOT done in the best interest of their students by any dishonest Lib union stretch.
Outlaw teacher unions.
