Tropic Thunder, No Blunder

Spencerblog, Spencerwife, Spencerdaughter and Spencerniece saw "Tropic Thunder" last night. We were not offended.

The film is a satire of Hollywood. It has been protested and because it supposedly makes fun of the mentally disabled.

It doesn't.

It makes fun of actors playing mentally disabled characters mawkishly and for their own acclaim.

It also makes fun of actors playing soldiers, writers pretending to be grizzled ex-soldiers, graphically violent war movies, Hollywood producers, directors, Jews, blacks, fat people, gays, Asians and heroin addicts. But mostly actors and Hollywood producers.

And it's pretty funny.

I'm looking forward to this one, I keep hearing it's the best comedy of the year and that Robert Downey, Jr is brilliant!
