Kill All the Republicans, He Explained

Famous wit and Republican-basher Garrison Keillor wonders
if Republicans should be cut out of the health-care system entirely and simply provided with aspirin and hand sanitizer. Thirty-two percent of the population identifies with the GOP, and if we cut off health care to them, we could probably pay off the deficit in short order.
What an interesting observation. But wait, Republicans in this country pay more taxes, contribute more to charity, are less of a drain on the social services system, and commit fewer violent crimes than the population that identifies with the Donkey Party. Wouldn't it be smarter to cut off health care to Democrats if we want to pay off the deficit in short order?

And another thing, haven't Democrats been voting like crazy to impose higher deficits on America, not lower?

A caustic wit and satirist doesn't have to be logical or take facts into account when amusingly advocating genocide, but it sure helps if he trying to make a serious point.

Another voice of reason from the right- Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kans.) told a group of local Kansas reporters on Wednesday, that opposition to the president's health care package had been driven by knee-jerk partisanship and urged Congressional Republicans to get on board a version of reform.

And yet, another - Bill Frist. Mr. Frist told Time magazine last Friday if he were still in the Senate, he “would end up voting for it.” He doesn’t think it’s perfect; it doesn’t do enough to bring costs under control, he says. But he likes the requirement that individuals purchase insurance, and the ban on exclusion from coverage for pre-existing conditions.
