Elections are fun

Mostly when your guy wins.

It's going to be interesting watching the conservatives attack the new Pres soon. Oh, wait, they've been attacking him for months now.

The difference is going to be that this time, the smart and funny people who attacked Bush for the past eight years will be defending Obama . The conversation will be fascinating though. All this time, the jabs at Bush were about how dumb he is and about the big mistakes he makes. The jabs during the election toward Obama were all false allegations of terrorist and socialist leanings with a tinge of fear. Like the far-right was afraid and unsure of why.

I have high expectations of this man. Many people who supported him do as well. I think my expectations are more realistic. Partly because I have a tendency to pull moderate and believe in some aspects of all of the parties out there on the political scene. Mostly because I am realistic.

The great things he promised during the campaign will not all come to fruition. But trying to move toward noble goals is a good step to take. If you try to do good things for your country, it is better than not trying at all.

We'll soon see who he picks for the big posts in the cabinet. That will go a long way to find out where his leadership will be heading. I'm hoping for some conservative and moderate voices to show up in those positions. I have never voted straight party in my life because I believe there are good republicans and good democrats. We all know that nothing gets accomplished for the betterment of the country when all that happens is fighting between the branches. Obama needs to put out that olive branch and reach toward unity in congress if he wants to get anywhere with all of those plans he had delineated on his website and at his campaign stops.
