Please Jude, don't make this bad

How does everyone else feel about this "Across The Universe" flick? You know, the movie based solely on Beatles songs? Sounds incredible, yes? Characters named Jude, Lucy, and Mr. Kite, with a soundtrack of like 30 Beatles covers? Whoa. Personally, I'm praying for Rocky Raccoon to show up, but I haven't seen him on the character lists, but we can't all trust Wikipedia, right?

Anyway, when I saw the preview for it earlier this summer, my mind was melting out of my skull with excitement. Visually stunning, and awe-tastically musical. Plus Evan Rachael Wood, Joe Cocker (who sang "With A Little Help From My Friends" better than Ringo), Bono, and Eddie Izzard all got parts in the film. But then the release date (last Friday) for it came and went, and it still hasn't ACTUALLY made it into a wide selection of theaters? What's the deal, Yoko?

And the soundtrack, now that I actually have it, is lame. It's like the Grease version of The Beatles. Some of the songs, are okay, but all it really does is prove that no one does it like The Beatles. Not even the great Bono can put magic into "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" like Lennon did. But I'm still gonna give this movie a shot, if it ever does come to a theater near me that is. If nothing else, it's my favorite movie trailer ever.

scope the trailer here.

leave a comment about what you feel is the best beatles song ever.

Best Beatles Song... "A Day in the Life".

When I first read you headline, I shuttled as thoughts of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" with Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees flew through my head.. that other 'Beatle Song" musical without the Beatles. This looks like that... only good! -hcc

I also was reminded of Sgt. Pepper. Historically messing with the Beatles' music has been a problem.

Of course The Beatles - LOVE by cirque de soleil is apparently changing all of that.

I'd rather watch Yellow Submarine

LOVE even brought Yoko and Paul together for some press photos. That's how serious that was!
