Let them shop

Gov. Corzine is not too bright in not giving state workers the day off after Thanksgiving. Everyone’s going to take off Friday as a vacation or personal day, so why spend state money to open the buildings for a skeleton staff? We could all be out shopping on Black Friday, pumping our money into the state sales tax.
Buyer
You will all be out shopping anyway, according to you. So take your vacation or personal day, but don’t make us pay for it.—Ed. Note

Dear Ed:

As a State worker, yeah, I'm ticked that Corzine's decided to take the Friday after Thanksgiving away from us, but I'll make him a deal: Give us the day back and he can have Election Day back!

PS: I'm using a Personal Day anyway!

Dear Ed:

One bright spot in here is that the Governor really has to come in here on Friday!

I agree, let him have Election Day. Why should we really have the day off. I voted this last election day in a Trenton school. I was shocked to see that the students were having lunch in the same gym where we vote. How dangerous is that for our children? Someone somewhere has to get our priorities straight.
