Cops look the other way

Ed, I would like to express my on gang activity. Cops want to try to clear up the streets. Well, if 20 guys are gathered on the corner at 3 in the morning, would that constitute them hanging out or should there be a curfew? Most likely they’re not doing anything productive and legal at that time. They want to clean up the streets from drugs and crime and gang activity, but the cops in the city of Trenton and Mercer County allow the gangs to have meetings at the police stations and at certain schools. Is that legal? If they’re trying to rid the streets of crime, they need to rid the society of the cops that allow these things to go on in their cities. Cops turn their heads when they see people standing on the corner selling drugs. How can people live without being in fear if they have to wonder what we’re paying our tax money to when we pay for these cops?
Street Sense
Are you implying the cops are corrupt, inept, or both?—Ed. Note

I do believe that there are many, many law enforcement officers who are very well aware of who, what and where the crime is committed in this city. For years no one seemed to notice the crowds at the corner of Prospect and East Stuyvesant avenues. At some of the worst moments, police cruisers simply rode by. No stop, no identification checks, nothing. There has always been open market drug dealing, drinking on the street, gambling and selling of stolen property and yet no one seems to notice. WHY?

Street Sense,
Thank Your governor John Corzine and the past 2 other governors, but DO NOT blame the police for looking the other way. Corzine is the one who sent out the directive telling ALL Police in New Jersey to NOT depend on witnesses to identify criminals. Corzine wants the police to have HARD, FIRSTHAND PROOF of criminal activity. If the POLICE DO NOT ACTUALLY WITNESS a criminal shooting someone, then NO CRIME has been committed. Also thank gov John Corzine for taking the death penalty off the books. The death penalty in itself is cruel and unusal punishment. Now if a citizen from New Jersey or any other state happens to belong to any Civil War or other war re-enactors groups and plan to transport ANY type of canon through New Jersey on their way to the re-enactment site, they must first obtain from New Jersey a Permit to transport the canon through the state, then they must also hire an off duty New Jersey State Trooper/s to escort the canon the whole time it takes the canon to travel through New Jersey. They are also NOT ALLOWED to make ANY STOPS in New Jersey except for emergencies ONLY. If not, they would be locked up for UNLAWFUL POSSESSION of a WEAPON. Guess Corzine is afraid some idiot from the Bloods or other A-Hole gang might decide to steal the canon and hide it in their jacket. Now if Corzine were to pass a law making it a crime to wear sweat hood and or carry a cell phone during the commission of ANY crime, or even making the parents of anyone under 18 charged with a crime equally guilty, then New Jersey would be seen as making progress in it's fight against gang violence.

Ben...Don't absolutely agree but we seem to be on the same page about one thing. NOTHING IS REALLY BEING DONE. It's all a name and money game. Somebody's the Governor, Senator, Council Person, Board President, Board Member. Give em the title and THAT'S all they care about. The inner city's are a joke, nobody seems to see it and nobody seems to care. Oh, excuse me at least not until election time. I hope everyone remembers exactly what these winded speech makers did within their term. We should never forget who did what for the citizens and when. Also, if any of these lazy photo-op clowns ever intend to work in the political
arena in any shape form or fashion, let's inform the world just how useless they really are and how they would only bring down that politicians so-called intentions for change.

If the police were walking the neighborhoods and talking with the residents, do you think that gang members would be able to get comfortable enough to deal drugs in front of peoples houses. No way, so why is it so hard for Palmer to put the cops back on the streets? Don't give me the money crunch statement. We spend more to house a criminal for one day in prison. Hey, I've already told them what to do. Speaking of walking the streets, why doesn't every council person, walk the streets of their districts, visits the home in their districts, and take care of the problems at hand? Oh, I forgot, that would mean they would have to get up off their overweight rumps and actually demonstrate some of the lies they told before election day.

I hope every person who voted for any of these clowns, remember their names when it's time to vote them out. The entire political administration in the city of trenton is corrupt.
