Language Barrier
Hello, Ed. First I would just like to say that I am not a racist or anti anything whatsoever. I was born in this country and have lived here all of my life. I just want to know when it became a liability to speak English. I go to work and I can’t get an advanced or managerial position because I don’t speak a second language. I should not have to pay out-of-pocket to learn a second language. Only in America can someone come to this country and not speak a lick of English and advance past someone who speaks perfectly good English.
Tongue Tied
Not just in America. I think the non-English-speakers do OK in several countries. —Ed. Note

Ed listen, as the daughter of a military man, our family lived in several places in this world. Each time we stayed for any length of time, in another country, my family had to learn the language. If we were going to live there, we had to learn and speak THEIR language.
