No Worries

Ed, “Worry Free Contract with PSE&G.” What does that mean? Surprise, it means it will cost me $900 for a new water heater installed by PSE&G. I’m going to be calling the Better Business Bureau. I think it’s a scam. How do those people get away with ripping everybody off?

Say no to the deal if you want, but how is it a scam for them to try to sell you a water heater?—Ed. Note

Perhaps you got it twisted when you signed on for a Worry Free
Contract with PSE&G. The sole purpose of the contract is to repair the appliances you have covered by the contract (washer, dryer, range, central air system, etc) PSE&G does not traditionally sell appliances. Buy your appliances from a retail source and pay an electrician.

Correction, you can buy appliances from PSE&G. If your in the Worry Free Contract. The stated fee wasn't to fix any existing appliance. It ws solely for the purchase of the appliance. However, they will fix all your existing appliances (new and old) under the Worry Free Contract. You simply pay $5. for each item listed (washer, dryer, etc. and its covered for repairs only.

Better yet, get yourself a homeowner's warranty...through American Home Shield or Total Protect...
