Tear That Junk Down

Ed, I got an idea about all these abandoned houses and everything. Why don’t all the neighbors chip in $50 bucks and rent a backhoe and knock the places down? The cops come and, oh, well. Take the backhoe back and nobody knows nothing. What are the owners going to do? If they gave a damn the homes would not look like this in the first place.
Heavy Equipment
Good luck with that. Make sure to disconnect the power lines and water connection. —Ed. Note

@ Anonymous, boy do you sound stupid. In order for a house to be demolished, there are many real-time procedures that must be put in place. procedures such as choosing a contractor who bid on the job, water shutoffs, electrical disconnects, trees cut (if needed) streets blocked off, traffic rerouted and dirt dumped after the structure is removed.
If as you suggest a group of homeowners took it upon themselves to do this, they would be fined and jailed for violating city ordinances. City inspectors must authorize procedures for a demolation to occurr. So before you make suggestions regarding subjects that you obviously know nothing about. Check with the City and ask them WHY, they aren't doing what citizens ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO. I'm sure if citizens could they would. These structures are bringing their property values down. It certainly is not their choice to live in many of the areas that the City has allowed to go to pot. Should you bother to learn something, you'll find that most of the unkept properties are CITY OWNED,
