Rutgers adds one more
Almost two months after National Signing Day, Rutgers added the 21st member of its 2008 freshman football class yesterday when the Scarlet Knights signed Kevin Eagan, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end from West Hartford, Conn.
Eagan, a first-team all-state selection by the Hartford Courant, delayed his signing because he was still torn between Rutgers and UConn.
He also received a scholarship offer from Temple after making 75 tackles and 10 sacks last year and leading Northwest Catholic High School to the Class S state semifinals.
Four of Eagan’s high school teammates signed letters of intent to play at Division I schools, including Notre Dame-bound Mike Golic, whose father, also named Mike, was a defensive lineman at Notre Dame and for the Eagles, Miami Dolphins and Houston Oilers.
